Celebrating nature in everything we are, our rivers, seas, quarries and forests, the idea of Ato Canto pá Quentá was born, an event that reaches its third edition this weekend. There will be three meetings, all in different locations. On Saturday, the 30th, there's a workshop “Women who give leather”, with the Maranhão Creole drum master, Carla Coreira, and there's a show “Por Consolação” by the multi-instrumentalist composer, Itaercio Rocha. On Sunday, 1st, there will be indigenous games with the women of Aldeia Tekoa Takuaty; Canturias do Tátá and Creole drum circle.

Cantarim, producer of the acts, held a raffle, which had Lute as a girl. in the Guarani version as one of the prizes. But who can better explain the essence of the project is the director, Jéssica Quadros:
“The proposal is to evoke the joy of navigating together and acting in our full exercise of being in presence, poetry and power.
We are preparing for this action, also for renewing the cycle of the second edition that this year connected us and sang in Alvorada ao Divino, which in spring guided by contact in body, encounter and song, establishing and recognizing the importance of Playing with Courage - Nhanheovanga Mbaraete.
The call for this party comes from the singing of Itaercio Rocha, who brought from Maranhão a heat that vibrates in the air and pores of Curitiba, resonating and radiating in these 40 years of career in a legacy that is perpetuated in his creations, in agents and actions that emerge from this encounter and resist.

Hold the helm, let go of the sail, blow the wind! That way, by strengthening bonds with our ancestral memory and references of our identity, we will have the breath to constantly revive, as a collective and community.
An indispensable song in this mobilization that takes place in voice, touch, dance, sacred and profane - the invitation to punga is by Carla Coreira, who brings with her the fundamentals, history, touches, tunes of the Tambor de Crioula do Maranhão and other manifestations of this state so powerful in the richness and cultural diversity of our country.

Enlarging the party in deep connection with our roots, language and motherland - from Paranaguá to Aldeia Mbya Guarani Tekoa Takuaty takes up games transmitted orally through generations in communities, cultivating the permanence of tradition and valuing ancestral knowledge for the development of the community and das Kyringue, Xondaro and Xondaria.
Canto pá Quentá emerges from a collective and independent mobilization, bringing together artists, researchers, educators, cultural agents and entrepreneurs in favor of the realization of this movement that promotes mutual learning between the knowledge and practices of different generations and encourages the participation of new agents in activities and initiatives that involve cultures and popular manifestations through cooperation, sharing and celebration.

The workshop is an initiative of the player and cultural diffuser, Carla Belfort, popularly known as Carla Coreira, which promotes a space for women to learn and practice the touch and dance of Tambor de Crioula. Born and raised amid popular culture manifestations in Maranhão, Carla has taken Tambor to several cities in the country.
Recognized as Brazilian Intangible Cultural Heritage by the National Historical and Artistic Heritage Institute (Iphan) in 2007, the Tambor de Crioula integrates the traditional manifestations of popular culture in Maranhão. Play is an Afro-Brazilian form of expression that involves female circular dancing, singing and drumming. The coreiras participate in it, driven by the intense rhythm of the drums and by the influx of chants or tunes evoked by players and singers, culminating in the punga or umbigada – a movement understood as a greeting and invitation.
