PEITA wants to know: who are you with? “I'm with her." came up to give visibility and provide dialogue about the lesbian and bisexual (cis and trans) movement, in addition to talking to supporters of women's struggle against racist and capitalist patriarchy. Coletivo Cássia, LB and feminist branch of Grupo Dignidade, the first NGO in Paraná and the second oldest in Brazil, which has been working for 26 years in the defense and promotion of LGBTI+ rights.
The choice of phrase was made together. PEITA's CEO, Karina Gallon, says that they were looking for a saying that spoke about women who love women, one of the mottos of the social organization, and that also addressed sorority, struggle and deconstruction. “I'm with her is for those who belong to the collective, sympathizers and especially men who want to take a stand and support the feminist struggle, but don't feel comfortable using 'fight like a girl'”, explains Karina. Thatiana Tucci, public relations for Coletivo Cássia reinforces that 'if I'm next to my girlfriend on the street, the phrase has a meaning, when I participate in a march, it is resignified and gets bigger”.
PEITA and Coletivo Cássia have been flirting since November last year, when Karina participated in the “Ideias e Ideals de Mulheres Transformadoras”, a meeting held monthly to debate and empower women economically. According to Thatiana, when the idea of crowdfunding to restore Grupo Dignidade's headquarters came up, having a CHEST as a reward added value to the campaign. It is also possible to purchase the T-shirt directly from the collective.
The president of the NGO, Ananda Puchta adds that “after the end of the campaign, the resources will be reverted directly to the Collective to enable the events that we have already organized and expand our actions”.
COLLECTIVE CASSIA
Coletivo Cássia was born in August 2017 as a result of commemorative events for the Day of Lesbian Visibility at Grupo Dignidade and OAB/PR. On that occasion, the women gathered there bought into the idea of creating a space for welcoming, entrepreneurship and female empowerment, which would carry the banner of lesbian and bisexual, cis or transgender women, but also welcome everyone who sought out the Collective. Thus, Cássia emerges in view of the invisibility of lesbian and bisexual women in the LGBT movement and the need to guide sorority in these spaces, bringing greater protagonism to women.
