Yesterday our ambassador in Manaus, Katia Brasil, told us that the Secretary of State for Youth, Sport and Leisure of the State of Amazonas made a publicity on the official website stating that it was supporting our campaign. This is a lie, We, from PEITA and Katia, have no connection with them or any other public body in Brazil.
The 2019 World Cup campaign was all created and put on by women. From the sisters who are with us here at PEITA, to the wonderful women of Joga Miga who have been with us since the beginning, mapping ambassadors across Brazil, collectives, producers, solo activists and bar owners. They women, independently, embraced our idea and gave visibility to the players of our national team, holding events with live broadcasts, which pumped and were highlighted in the national media.

clarification note
The coordination of the campaign "Jogue como uma Garota Manaus", which is motivating the fans of the Brazilian Women's National Team, which disputes the World Cup in France, makes it public that the crowd was idealized by the protest brand Peita, from Curitiba, with the objective of being a private campaign, independent of the public authorities, to provoke industry and commerce to mobilize to create other women's fans in their establishments, giving greater visibility to the role of women in football.
The fans also want to provoke the public authorities to decree the optional point on the days of the National Team's games, thus guaranteeing equity and the same space as in the men's cups.
Therefore, we inform you that we have no ties or support and partnerships with any government agency in Amazonas, not even the State Secretariat for Youth, Sports and Leisure - SEJEL, and any information that makes this type of reference should be considered distortion.
Peita invited feminists, involved in defending and combating violence against women, to be ambassadors. In Manaus, the ambassador established partnerships with feminist organizations and social movements: Instituto Mana; partyAmazonas; Miga sua Local Culture Diversity, Humaniza Collective Feminist – Obstetric Violence Manaus.
The coordinators invited the management of the Espaço Cultural Curupira Mãe do Mato bar to host the live broadcasts of the Women's National Team games.
