Íntimo Colorido offers free Feminist Sensitization course

Have you ever heard of the feminization of poverty? Do you know the concept of single parent families? In September, Íntimo Colorido will offer a course on fundamental concepts for women who are interested in developing social intervention actions with women in situations of social vulnerability. The course will have two modules and will be free. On September 4 (Saturday) the first meeting will be held, via Zoom, at 7 pm (Brasília time). Then, subscribers will have access to the complete course and the material will be available for one month. During this time, students can attend classes as many times as they want.

Íntimo Colorido is a social company that, since 2009, develops social projects aimed at mental health, well-being and empowerment of women in situations of social vulnerability. This initiative impacted 250 women, developed 16 projects and also toured countries in Europe, Africa and Asia. Priscila Dias, coordinator and creator of this social initiative, will offer the course.

On this occasion, Priscila will share her experience as a Social Psychologist, Philosopher, Master in Social Intervention, Innovation and Entrepreneurship at the University of Coimbra, where she is currently a doctoral candidate in Post-Colonial Studies. The course will establish a bridge between theory and practice by teaching the concepts necessary for responsible and sensitive action with women in situations of social vulnerability.

The first module will feature materials on three topics: poverty and social vulnerability of women; women and social exclusion; prejudices, stereotypes and stigmas of poor women. The second will offer explanations about the feminization of poverty, single-parent families and the ethical-political suffering of vulnerable women.

The Covid-19 pandemic has accelerated the problem of poverty around the world and among the most affected groups are women. For this reason, the colorful intimate considered it essential to take a stand and call on more women from civil society to also take an active stance in the face of this moment of health and humanitarian crisis that our society is facing. There is a new era that begins with your decision to be part of this change ”, comments Priscila, inviting the women to participate in the course.

The contents shared in this course will be presented in a simple and didactic way. It offers introductory but fundamental reflections to warm up to another course that Íntimo Colorido will offer in November. This time, the project will teach step by step to those interested in structuring a social project aimed at marginalized women.
