The long-awaited Peita sarongs have arrived.
Since our 2nd anniversary in 2018, where we produced black sarongs with all the phrases released until February of that year and the launch of the phrase “There is no such thing as fighting alone”, we were in debt and promised to launch a sarong for your outrageous summer. Well, promise kept.

Even when a fighting woman rests, she fights. Because we know what it's like to have the perfect body, we witness the fatphobia of end-of-year parties and we can't escape objectification in "beach fashion". Harassment doesn't take a vacation and we don't have a minute of peace. So, why not strengthen ourselves and take a stand in this context too?
“Our expertise lies in creating the message and for this new product we needed a partnership with someone who understands the segment, the characteristics of the fabric and the production process,” says Karina Gallon, creator of Peita.
In a co-creation with Zalála, a brand from Curitiba known for its colorful and very expressive sarongs, we thought “what would our fighting girl look like on the beach?”.
“Our guerrilla is in nature, naked, wearing a cap and a green scarf on one of her wrists. With only one breast to remember the women who have faced or are facing breast cancer, we try to represent a little of the plurality of struggles that we go through with our bodies.” explains Gallon.
The creative process for the print was an immersion into both brands and how the graphic representation of this union would be. The flowers, colors, accessories, the look - everything was designed to represent feminism and its signs, expressing the power and audacity of being a woman.
The daisy is a reference to the “Marcha das Margaridas”, a demonstration by Brazilian rural women workers, in favor of social rights and denouncing violence against women in the countryside and forest.
Rue is used to cleanse and care for menstrual health. An ancestral knowledge among women.

Inclusion, diversity and commitment to the feminist cause are also values of Zalála, which saw Peita as a perfect match for the first partnership of its sarongs. Created by sisters Sofia and Valéria Aichinger, the resort wear brand launched in 2021 has sarongs, kimonos and pareos as its main products. “We value the art of hand-drawn prints and digitally applied to our pieces. They are unique designs and exclusive prints,” says Valéria.

In the double-sided version, it has the original Peita layout with the phrase “ Fight like a girl. ” on one side and the illustration on the other, and a comfortable, quick-drying fabric that doesn’t hold sand.
For Valeria, the difference in this edition is, without a doubt, the message: “an illustration that has history and meaning.”
Behind the creation is the sensitivity and style of Gabriela Porcel.
“For me, the key point of this print was being able to encompass the personality of two brands within one theme, capturing important characteristics of each one and uniting all these individualities in one illustration,” reveals Porcel, who has been creating for Zalála since its launch.
“Collaborating with a brand so committed to important causes brought a special meaning to the creative process. I’m excited about the result and the opportunity to be part of this project with Peita.”
With this partnership, we hope to reach new audiences and strengthen brand recognition, taking advantage of the synergy between their identities.
