Entries are open for the 2nd Putaça - Women's Futsal Amateur Championship organized by the protest brand PEITA , with the support of Coletivo Cássia, the lesbian and bisexual arm of Grupo Dignidade. Teams from Curitiba and the Metropolitan Region have until August 16th to guarantee their place in the competition. There are only 10 spots. The games will be at Clube da Bola and the get-togethers, as well as the medal and cup ceremony, will be at Espaço 37.
The tournament is divided into three stages, two qualifying and one elimination. The first is on the 24th of August, the second on the 8/9 and the final one on the 22nd of September. The draw for the key, where the teams will initially be separated into two groups, will take place on August 22nd, with a live broadcast on our Instagram . Putaça was created to bring together women who play football and want to occupy space within this modality, which is completely dominated and led by men.
To register, simply fill out the form available at the Facebook event and deposit the fee of R$300/team, which will cover the costs of organizing the championship, such as court rental, referees, equipment rental, production, among others. . PEITA has other initiatives up its sleeve and is looking for sponsors for the events.
Putaça's referees are Andrea Mayork and Luiza Montingelli (who is also a coach for the women's team).
( • ) Whore + Cup = Whore
Like the other brand-protest actions, the name of the championship is already a provocation. “In our society, whores are women who dare to be who they want to be, who question, break with imposed stereotypes and fight for equity in all social structures. Dividing women into saints and whores is one of the ways the white supremacist patriarchy submits women to its oppressions and keeps them docile and obedient”, comments Karina Gallon, creator of PEITA.
The first edition of PUTAÇA took place last year in Curitiba and brought together about 100 players, divided into 11 teams, plus the public that crowded the court to watch the games. Before the matches, exchange circles were held between the participants to find out about the difficulties they face in practicing the sport.
The cup, a pair of breasts, and the medals, ceramic nipples, are made by artist Julia Lana. Her project “Retratos Rotos” claims the female presence through the teats as an object of study and art, recovering what at some point was 'denaturalized' and objectified. The 2018 winning team, Helenão, chose the player who was the mold for this year's cup. This is the championship prize.
During the first event, the phrase “Play like a girl” was launched, which Brazil won in June and July, during the 2019 World Cup. “More than a catch phrase, it is a confrontation phrase. Each person who wears the phrase on their T-shirt or socks reframes it within their struggle context”, reinforces Gallon.

Teams can have up to 12 registered players, but only 10 can be called up for each stage. The two extra participants are for possible substitution, in case there are absences during the championship. As for the uniform, the shirts must be the same (with the exception of the goalkeeper, which can have a different color) and the shorts and socks do not need to be the same, but they must be the same color. The use of socks and shin guards is mandatory, for safety.
Teams will be divided into two groups, with the top two teams from each qualifying for the final. The value of the registration fee will be used to cover the costs of renting the court, referees, renting materials and producing the event. For more details of the regulation, visit.
