Every two years it's the same thing, elections and everyone just talks about politics. Is there something wrong with that? No, not at all. Dialogue is fundamental within the democratic process. We need to listen to ideas and exchange information with each other (no fake news, please) to develop informed opinions. But what is politics? What are the differences between the legislative, executive and judicial powers? Why is it essential that we have more cis women, trans women, transvestites, lesbians, bisexuals, blacks, indigenous peoples, fat people, people with disabilities and other political minorities assuming political office? How does our vote directly impact our lives and the entire population of our city, state and country?
It was with a view to providing a safe space for exchanges and learning that #putapeita, Liga Brasileira de Lésbicas and Rua Pagu are organizing A Dose of Politics , monthly meetings, with guests involved in social movements, political organizations and who work directly with public policies to respond doubts, foment debate and instigate reasoning.

Our first round of conversation is this Wednesday, the 20th, at 7 pm, on Rua Pagu . The works are opened by the historian, activist and one of the main black and lesbian leaders in Brazil and Latin America, Heliana Hemetério , and the representative of the Instituto Política por/de/sobre Mulheres , an initiative of women who wish to expand political participation women in Brazil, Tailane Costa.
